We made the decision to have it in the fellowship part of the neighborhood church because it was a large guest list. We had the baby shower on a Saturday afternoon. The fellowship section has large round tables that seat ten people. We moved 1 table off by itself to be the presents table. We covered this table with a smooth pink table-cloth; our niece has found out she is having a girl. We set the bassinet in the center of the table. We decided to use our presents for the baby shower decorations. I had obtained a pink and white infant blanket, which we hung over the side of the cradle. We pinned some rattles and other baby toys to the blanket using diaper pins. We then showed the little outfits that my sister had bought. We finished the baby shower party decorations for the presents table by putting a big teddy bear into the bassinet. It's so much fun to decorating for a baby shower!
For the food service table we had an arrangement of fresh flowers from the community florist. She used silky pink carnations, baby's breathe and daisies for the display. We determined that no other baby shower party decorations needed to be placed on this table. We did have pink napkins that we put on this table, along with a cake that was decorated with a stork holding a little doll in a pink frosting blanket.
We had also gotten a corsage for our niece and 1 for every of the new grandmas to be. We felt that the room looked very nice and we wouldn't have to spend a great deal of time cleaning up baby shower decorations due to the fact that they would all be sent home as presents to our niece.
We had a big turn out for the baby shower party. My niece got several very nice gifts. She was glad that we had the baby shower in a space that was not cramped. As she progresses with the maternity she is feeling more claustrophobic. Within 30 minutes after the baby shower party was over the fellowship section was cleaned up and we were going home.
