An Evening Out With Pals From College At A Local Nightclub Leads To Abusive Drinking And Symptoms Of Alcohol Poisoning When Lois was in high school, she had obtained a reputation as a person who studied a lot and who rarely, if ever, "painted the town red" by drinking with her pals. After Lois finished high school, she applied to and was accepted into a leading program in economics. Her rationale underlying this decision was that this subject would be a good foundation for law school and would not be similar to the bulk of law school applicants who elect to choose political science as their undergraduate major.
Lois was the type of individual who worked thoroughly to finish what she started and then would take a couple of days off when she could. As it turns out, however, most of the things she did between terms or during summer breaks did not have anything to do with drinking. Evidently, Lois was anything but a party-person. Now that her final examinations for her second year in law school were done and feeling overjoyed that she had done a super job on her exams, however, she wanted to take a break and do some celebrating.
So Lois and some of her friends from college went to a local club where they had a few wine coolers. As the evening proceeded, Lois and her pals continued to drink. In point of fact, she was having such a wonderful time that she didn't want the night to end.
After drinking about fifty minutes when Lois started to speak in a confused manner, slur her words, and then become unconscious, nonetheless, her buddies instantly realized that they needed to call that they needed to call 911 and ask for medical assistance because they suspected that Lois was manifesting alcohol poisoning symptoms.

In Lois's own words, "I never pondered the fact that I might become one of the alcohol poisoning statistics in the local city newspaper. I now realize that careless and irresponsible drinking is not for me. I promise that this will never happen again."
Fortunately, Lois was not only "book smart" but she also had. Stated more precisely, she rapidly grasped the fact that she had made an error and decided that she would not make the same error again. In actual fact, she now realized that she had involved herself in "binge drinking" and that even one instance of this type of irresponsible and hazardous drinking can result in a loss of life.
